Ada’s List is an incredible project. It demonstrates the power of networked communities to come together to learn, share experiences and build collective power. Launched back in October 2013 as a simple email list to help women in the tech industry discuss and tackle the challenges they face, it has grown into a phenomenon. Today, more than 8,000 women and gender non-conforming people are now part of Ada’s List.
The barriers facing women in tech are varied. On its website the project notes that only 2% of funding goes to women founders, and the number of women in the industry has decreased 50% over the last two decades. There are many more statistics that underline and highlight the scale of the problems, but Ada’s List is working to actively change things.
Ada’s List Conf is a great event that offers an opportunity for members of the network to come together to discuss an immense array of topics, from attracting investment as a female founder to Blockchain, to issues around race and mental health. With speakers including author Katrine Marçal, Digital Strategist Sara Wachter-Boettcher and social entrepreneur Hera Hussain, it’s going to be an unmissable event.
Taking place on the 8th and 9th October, we’ll be attending virtually as Silver Sponsors. We’re delighted to be able to throw our support behind Ada’s List, and we’re excited to listen in on the incredible conversations that will take place over the two days.
Come say hello to us at our virtual stand. You’ll be able to talk to us about the work we’re doing to help build a more inclusive and accessible tech industry.
See you there!
There are a number of different ticket options available. Find them all on the Ada’s List website and register to attend.
