AND She Can- Web Development Basics 1 - HTML and CSS (1)

Are you looking to learn the basics of building a website? Or, maybe you’re thinking about making a career change to web development but you’re not sure how to start?

AND Digital is launching its own free, online 'Web Development Basics 1 - HTML and CSS' course. The course is for women looking to start a profession in IT, or who want to gain an understanding of the basic concepts of how web pages work and start creating their own.

In this five week course, designed and delivered by our experienced developers, you’ll be learning about HTML elements (such as paragraphs, headings and lists) and how they are used on a web page, as well as styling and positioning them using CSS. At the end of the course you will be able to build your very own basic website, working in small teams as part of the final course assignment.

The course will run online, free of charge, at 18:00 on Tuesdays for five weeks starting on 8th June. The sessions are one-and-a-half hours long, with an optional extra 30 minutes at the end for questions. We will issue you a certificate of completion if you attend 80% of the sessions, and successfully submit your course assignment at the end. After completing this course you will have the option to take on our next module in web development basics, which will be focusing on Javascript fundamentals (dates to be announced).

This course is only open to individuals above the age of 18 who identify as women. There is no prior knowledge or experience required, all you need is your computer and a stable internet connection.
