Cloud has rapidly grown from being a market disruptor to an essential strategy for enterprise, automation and business agility. But how do you foster a Cloud culture and reduce complexity at any stage? How do you reduce the time to build a new platform by 8 weeks? Join AND Digital and Amazon Web Services (AWS) as we debunk migration myths and share lessons learned.

No migration is a simple process as it will affect changes to your organisational model and technical capabilities. Romy van Es, AWS, will dive into the key business drivers for moving to the AWS Cloud, the AWS Migration methodology and key services, and what enablement initiatives exist for customers looking to start their journey in the AWS Cloud.

Tina Howell, Cloud Practice Lead at AND Digital, will be demonstrating how AND moved N Brown Group’s monolith applications into AWS, reducing the workload from eight weeks to one hour. Diane Roland, Head of Cloud and Platform at N Brown Group, will then expand on the benefits of this migration. She will outline what is next for N Brown Group on their Cloud journey, whilst also exploring how to bring your existing team with you on a successful Cloud migration.

About Romy

Romy van Es is a Partner Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services. Originally coming from a Quantum Physics background, Romy started off her career at AWS as a trainee, quickly having to develop her Cloud skills with a ‘born in the cloud’ approach. Now, Romy works with AWS Partners to develop their technical capabilities in AWS Cloud Solutions. It is her mission to share knowledge on how the AWS Partner community can build their business with AWS in order to accelerate the Cloud journey for customers.

About Tina

Tina Howell is AND’s Cloud Practice Lead, and brings with her a career in technology that spans two decades across a wide variety of roles. She is a vocal advocate and practitioner of DevOps, and passionately believes in the power communities have to build long-lasting, effective DevOps capabilities. Tina’s focus is to help organisations grow and foster these capabilities through initiatives that include apprenticeships, AWS re:Start, coaching and consulting.

About Diane

Diane Roland is the Head of Cloud and Platform at N Brown Group. Originally starting at N Brown in the mainframe development space, Diane has almost 20 years of experience working in a variety of roles. Most recently,she has moved her focus to ensure N Brown is developing the right growth and also governance  to support their Cloud first approach. One of Diane’s key passions is building and supporting her team with the right AWS training and creating a culture that  encourages a fail fast approach.
